Conjuring the warmth of the sun and the salt of the sea, this release wants you to imagine island hopping in the Caribbean. To listen to each sound is to experience a different aspect of Caribbean culture. All about a good time, it draws influences from dancehall, reggae, Afro-Cuban, soca, exotica, Hawaiian music, calypso, Afrobeat, and reggaeton.
As for instruments, you’ll find ukulele, steel drum, guitar, vocals, synths, and kalimba to convey melodicism, as well as tons of Caribbean and West African-style percussion. To truly bring you into the vibe, these sounds are fused with location recordings of the ocean, the beach, the forest, and other natural elements to give them real-world texture.
